WACO, Texas (KWTX) - The City of Pampa announced Thursday that Bellmead police Chief Shawn Myatt is leaving to take the police chief's role in Pampa, Texas.

Myatt will assume his duties on Oct. 1, according to the social media post."Myatt brings more than 28 years of police-chief-level leadership experience to Pampa, having served communities across Texas throughout his career," the post reads.

Myatt has been the Bellmead police chief since July of 2022.
