By Terry Collier | Fredericksburg Music Club on Wednesday, August 19, 2026 THE MOANIN' FROGS - This sextet of saxophone musicians are expected to blend a program of jazz, pop, classical "and everything in between" when they cap the Fredericksburg Music Club's 90th season of programs on May 16, delivering a performance that's touted to be "equal parts talent and hilarious entertainment." Opening with a concert pianist performance by the Gold Medalist from the 2025 Van Cliburn Competition, the Fredericksburg Music Club is celebrating its 90th anniversary this coming season for Texas Hill Country area residents with eight monthly concerts that range from classical piano and string music to more contemporary vocal and brass performances.
Normally set to begin at 3 p.m. on the third Sunday of each month in the sanctuary of Fredericksburg United Methodist Church, 1800 North Llano, the 2026-2027 season's programs will run from September through May.
Featured on this season's program will be: Aristo Sham, Classical Pianist - Winner of the 2025 Van Cliburn Competition's Gold Medalist award, Sham has been recognized for exuding "astounding intellect and a deep emotional resonance; a cultivated sophistication and an immediately engaging presence; a penchant to take on the great monuments of the piano repertoire, and a natural, infectious spontaneity." (Sept. 20, 2026) Alias Brass - Founded in 2013, Alias Brass is a collaboration of five artists and educators from across the nation who offer original compositions, with concepts that blend virtuosic musicianship with a high level of entertainment.
