NACOGDOCHES, Texas (KTRE) - The ring statue at Stephen F. Austin State University's Centennial Ring Plaza is being temporarily removed for refurbishment.

The nine-foot-tall statue, located across from the Austin Building, is being taken to Pyrology's manufacturing facility for upgrades to its protective exterior finish, a university spokesperson said in a social media post.

Pyrology is the original fabricator of the statue.
