BELLMEAD, Texas (KWTX) - A Bellmead resident from Honduras was sentenced to eight years in prison Thursday in the 2024 sexual assault of a 13-year-old runaway.

Joel Alexander Orellana Ramos, 21, pleaded guilty to aggravated sexual assault of a child, a first-degree felony punishable by up to life in prison.

Judge Thomas West of Waco's 19th State District Court accepted Ramos' plea agreement with the McLennan County District Attorney's Office and sentenced Ramos to eight years in prison.
