WHITEWRIGHT, Texas (KXII) - A burglary investigation in Whitewright ended in a standoff Wednesday when officers tracked a wanted fugitive to a home, finding him armed and hiding in a crawl space with a stolen gun.

Jeffrey Gilbreath, who was wanted on active felony warrants out of Fannin County, was arrested and booked into the Fannin County Jail.

The investigation began Wednesday morning when officers from the Whitewright Police Department were called out to a reported vehicle burglary in the 100 block of West Elm Street.
