ANGELINA COUNTY, Texas (KTRE) - Companies hauling overweight loads in Angelina County must get an agreement, and possibly post a bond, before using county roads under an updated order.

County commissioners said they need new protections as they put more money into road repairs."We don't want to invest all this money and then have a lot of heavy loads come in and destroy our roads," Angelina County Judge Keith Wright said.

Road budget increaseWright said the county's hard-top road budget grew from $500,000 in 2022 to more than $2. 2 million now.
