HOUSTON, Texas - The Office of the Houston City Controller hosted Siempre Presente Wednesday, bringing Houstonians together to honor lives impacted by immigration enforcement and turn solidarity into action.

The program examined ICE's presence and operations in Houston, highlighted how local organizations are supporting immigrant families, and identified concrete ways Houstonians - including those outside the Latino community - can connect families with resources and advocate for accountability.

The event was held at the TBH Center, 333 S. Jensen Dr., Houston, on Oct. 15, 2026. Speakers included Houston City Controller Chris Hollins, Ronaldo Salgado speaking on behalf of the Salgado family, Cesar Espinoza of FIEL, Frida Adame of We the Lucha, and immigration attorney Silvia Mintz.
