AUSTIN, Texas - A North Texas roofing company has been ordered to pay back multiple people who the company scammed out of tens of thousands of dollars, authorities said Thursday.

What we know: Rubinsky Roofing, LLC was found liable for 27 violations of the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act after reports arose claiming the company was scamming customers, according to the Texas Attorney General's Office.

An investigation revealed that the company accepted payments from dozens of customers, totaling over $500,000, for roofing work that was never completed.
