BEXAR COUNTY, Texas - Industrial Electric Mfg., along with the Governor's Office and Bexar County, announced Tuesday that it is establishing a new advanced manufacturing facility at Brooks, formerly called Brooks City Base.
is investing $200 million in the project that is expected to also create up to 3,000 new jobs by 2030. "IEM is excited to put down roots in San Antonio," IEM Chief Executive Officer Clayton Such said in a news release.
"The city's skilled workforce, strong infrastructure and collaborative economic development environment made this a natural choice for our next phase of growth. Governor Greg Abbott's office said that the state will grant more than $3 million to Industrial Electric Mfg. to help create 448 new jobs. "Texas leads America's manufacturing resurgence," Abbott said. "This investment by IEM in San Antonio will create new, good-paying jobs and generate a significant economic impact for Bexar County.
