AHEC shares mental health resources at Laredo City Hall as suicide deaths drop 25%
The Area Health Education Center held a press conference and wellness fair at Laredo City Hall to promote mental health resources and the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, reporting a 25% decrease in suicide deaths in the area.

LAREDO, Tex.
(KGNS) - The Area Health Education Center (AHEC) held its second annual press conference, 5K run and wellness fair at Laredo City Hall July 20, with a focus on mental health resources and the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline.
Leaders said suicide deaths in the area are down 25 percent so far this year, while calls to 988 have increased about 45 percent.
