VAN ZANDT COUNTY, Texas (KLTV) - Community members gathered in Van Zandt County on Saturday for a barbecue fundraiser benefiting two local families struck by tragedy.

Funds raised from the event support both the family of fallen deputy Adam Sherifi and the surviving relatives of a fatal Canton-area house fire.

The fundraiser began at 11 a.m. at 450 West Kansas Street in Van.
