TEMPLE, Texas (KWTX) - Gov. Greg Abbott visited Clem Mikeska's BBQ in Temple to energize voters, drawing an enthusiastic crowd of supporters."Actually my sister-in-law is a campaign worker and I saw this event coming up and I asked if I could come and she brought me with her. I really enjoyed it, really, really great trip," said Mark Campbell, a supporter of Abbott.

Abbott contrasts himself with HinojosaAbbott highlighted what he said are differences between him and his Democratic opponent, Gina Hinojosa, saying she is far left on issues like law enforcement."Gina Hinojosa voted to defund our law enforcement officers. That's not Texas. In Texas, we support our law enforcement officers, period," Abbott said.

Governor touts recordAbbott pointed to what he described as a booming economy in Texas during his time in office."It's more than just our economy that's doing well. As we gather today, I've got to tell you, that crime is down in the state of Texas, our neighborhoods are safer, and once again, we have a secure border in our great state," Abbott said.
