LUFKIN, Texas (KTRE) - The Angelina County Sheriff's Office will conduct a new operation to help reduce underage drinking, using a new grant to expand its sting operations to drive-thru daiquiri shops.
According to the Center for Disease Control, 1 in 5 teen drivers involved in fatal crashes had alcohol in their system.
The Sheriff's Office says it's committed to reducing that danger to East Texas teens."Alcohol is a huge driver of fatal accidents out on the highways and there's a disproportionate number of young people that kill get killed in car wrecks," said Tom Selman, Angelina County sheriff.
