HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- A person was killed and another was injured in a shooting in northeast Houston on Friday afternoon, authorities said.

According to the Houston Police Department, the shooting happened in the 5100 block of Mesa Drive.

Officers initially responded to a call about multiple people shot, but investigators clarified only two people were struck by gunfire.
