GAINESVILLE, Texas (KXII) - What started as an idea between two boutique owners in Gainesville has grown into a sunflower festival now in its second season.

Darlene Odle and Tiffaney Staggs, of Gypsy Star's Darlings Boutique, said they were inspired by other vendor festivals and created one that gives back.

This year's proceeds benefit local nonprofits including CASA North Texas, Noah's Ark Animal Shelter and Gainesville Area Visual Arts."We were invited to come to the Sunflower Festival last year and all the money that they raise gets split and distributed to local charities and local nonprofits and we are one of those nonprofits," said Joe Conner, president of Gainesville Area Visual Arts.
