(KGNS) - A man was hospitalized in stable condition after being stabbed on Nov. 1 while trying to defend someone during a fight downtown, according to the Laredo Police Department.

Officers responded shortly after midnight on Sunday to the 800 block of Houston Street for a report of a stabbing.

Initial reports indicated a large fight broke out among unhoused people, and the victim was stabbed while attempting to defend another person.
