WACO, Texas (KWTX) - Job seekers across Central Texas connected with hiring managers Monday afternoon as Workforce Solutions for the Heart of Texas hosted its annual Fall Hiring Fair at the Waco Convention Center.

The event, which ran from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., brought together more than 60 local employers with more than 1,000 positions available across a wide range of industries."For our season of job fairs, hiring fairs, this is our largest event," said Jose Palacios, Director of Business and Industry Initiatives for Workforce Solutions for the Heart of Texas.

"Every employer that's here today is hiring."More than 1,000 jobs up for grabs at Workforce Solutions Fall Hiring Fair in Waco(Bradley Vaughn)Palacios noted that local hiring demand is especially strong in two key sectors."If you look at our attendees today, as far as the employers, it's a pretty good diverse mix, but we do have a heavy manufacturing and healthcare," Palacios said.
