The New Braunfels City Council heard a presentation regarding a $1. 2 million expenditure by the Economic Development Corporation for a three year contract with Gener8tor, an entrepreneurship incubator program.

The Greater New Braunfels Chamber of Commerce identified three capabilities that would fill the gap left by current entrepreneurship programs, such as the Spark Small Business Center - identifying founders and entrepreneurs who have the ability to grow their business quickly and successfully, pour into those founders with coaching, resources and connections and connect businesses with a network of investors, Chamber CEO Jonathan Packer said.

"What we determined was that it was irrational for us to try to build those three capabilities organically," Packer said.
