WACO, Texas (KWTX) - Gov. Greg Abbott has directed the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board to develop a three-year bachelor's degree pathway, both students and colleges intrigued by the idea.

Most jobs today require a bachelor's degree, which typically takes four years and costs tens of thousands of dollars.

According to Abbott, a three-year bachelor's degree could reduce the cost of earning a degree by up to 25%, saving students anywhere from $15,000 to $35,000.
