SHERMAN, Texas (KXII) - As the cosmetology industry grows in demand, Sherman ISD is keeping up with an all new space for future barbers, stylists, nail techs and more.

The district has a fully functional, industry-standard salon, offering a chance for Sherman High School cosmetology students to study the beauty in hair, skin and nails and graduate as a fully-licensed cosmetologist."With a cosmetology license, they can do nails, they Can do feet, they can do hair, they can do facials. everything," said Sherman High School Cosmetology Instructor Christy Jeffcoat.

What was once a storage room is now a hands-on classroom with styling chairs, professional hair dryers, sinks and more for students to explore."I decided to join this class because I like to do nails, and I do my own," said Sherman High School Junior Kayla Weber.
