The New Braunfels City Council recognized National Hire a Veteran Day at their regular meeting on July 27.

Hire a Veteran Day is observed annually on July 25 to encourage employers to "recognize the talents and leadership veterans bring to the civilian workforce and expand career opportunities for those transitioning from military service," the council proclamation stated.

"The city of New Braunfels proudly recognizes the extraordinary courage, selfless sacrifice, steadfast dedication and unwavering commitment of the men and women who have honorably served in the United States Armed Forces in defense of our nation's freedoms, democratic ideals and enduring values," the proclamation stated.
