MIDLAND COUNTY, Texas (KOSA) - A Midland County jury has sentenced a man to life in prison for one count of manslaughter and 92 years in prison for one count of failure to stop and render aid.

According to the District Attorney Judicial District Midland County, both charges were second-degree felonies, but 52-year-old Rogelio Ortiz-Olivas was sentenced as a habitual offender because of two prior federal felony convictions for illegal re-entry.

As a habitual offender, he faced a minimum sentence of 25 years in prison and up to life.
