Texas getting $1B from Meta settlement. Here's how it'll be spent

AUSTIN, Texas - Meta has agreed to a $17 billion settlement with nearly every state in the U.S. over the addictive nature of social media with teens.

What we know: Texas will get about $1 billion from the settlement with the parent company of apps such as Facebook and Instagram, according to the Texas Attorney General's Office.

The agreement also requires Meta to roll out several requirements for its products, including daily usage limits for teens and rules designed to prevent children from using their apps.
