TYLER, Texas (KLTV) - An Arlington man accused of scamming a woman out of cash and gold claims he was forced into doing the pickup for fear of his and his family's life.

Anuj Modi is on trial in Judge Kerry Russell's court in Smith County on a charge of engaging in organized criminal activity and financial abuse of elderly.

During day 2 of the trial Thursday, Modi took the stand and said a company he was working to obtain a visa contacted him and told him to do a pickup in Longview.
