Houston families can find free groceries, prepared food and family activities Sunday as part of an effort to address food insecurity before the start of the school year.

The Hugs in a Blanket Foundation will host Everybody Eatz: Ivan's Pop-Up Grocery Store & Food Park from 2:30 to 5 p.m. on Sunday at Exotic Pop, 5410 Almeda Road in Houston.

Organizers say the event is intended to support families facing rising grocery costs and reduced access to food assistance.
