This October, the Randy Rogers Family Foundation's second annual Pickleball Jam will raise money for the Humane Society of the New Braunfels Area - but before people pick up their paddles and open their pocketbooks, the foundation held a day of service, donating time and labor.

On Tuesday, Aug. 25, about 40 volunteers from the Randy Rogers Family Foundation and Tito's Vodka for Dog People spent four hours volunteering at HSNBA, using chainsaws to clear the walking trail on the property, installing shelving and organizing the sally port area, where animal kennels and other supplies are stored.

HSNBA provided a list of tasks that needed to be done, and the foundation chose these tasks, HSNBA Volunteer Coordinator Tara Cojocaru said.
