KILLEEN, Texas (KWTX) - A man is behind bars after Bell County Sheriff's deputies found one dead and six severely malnourished dogs at a property south of Killeen over the weekend.

Michael Albert Turner, 57, was arrested following the discovery on Sunday.

According to a Bell County Sheriff's Office media release, deputies were called to Turner's property July 26 after a concerned citizen reported a welfare check on the animals.
