WACO, Texas (KWTX) - It didn't get the doomsday prognostication associated with the turn-of-the-century Y2K drama, but McLennan County employees dealing this week with the transition to a new computer software system say the pain is real.

County workers have undergone from 20 to 25 hours of training on the new Tyler Technologies system, but many complain the tutelage was insufficient and that the Tyler support staff is hard to find when they have questions."I want to pick this computer up and throw it out the window, and I wouldn't give a damn," one county employee said Tuesday.

Another employee burst into tears at work on Monday and had to go home to retrieve her blood-pressure medication.
