Paris, Texas (KXII) - A pedestrian was killed after they were struck by a pickup truck while trying to cross the street in Paris Thursday evening.

According to the Paris Police Department, at around 9:35 p.m. officers were called out the the 4500 block of SE Loop 286 after a man had apparently been fatally struck by a pickup truck while he was trying to cross the road.

The driver of the truck initially took off, but they were later identified and have been cooperating with investigators.
