HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) -- This week, Texas Land Commissioner Dawn Buckingham not only raised concerns over Harris County's flood projects, but also said the county hasn't started programs with the millions it received to help 2024 storm victims.

Between Hurricane Beryl and the Derecho windstorm, Harris County says nearly 400,000 neighbors were affected in 2024, mainly by damaged homes and apartments.

To help them, the county received nearly $70 million from the federal government to create assistance programs.
