In a heartbreaking entry on the Scary Mommy website, it was announced Monday that the company's founder, Jill Smokler, has died.

The 48-year-old battled glioblastoma for more than two years, according to the Scary Mommy team.

Smokler was a stay-at-home mom with three kids when she started the Scary Mommy website that provided an honest take on the rewards and challenges that come with parenting.
