LA PORTE, Texas (KTRK) -- An overturned 18-wheeler along Highway 225 is causing delays for drivers in the La Porte area Tuesday morning, according to officials.

The La Porte Office of Emergency Management (OEM) said the big rig incident, which was reported at about 5:13 a.m., closed the eastbound lanes of SH-225 to SH-146.

Drivers were told to expect backups and consider taking an alternate route.
