She's known to professional wrestling fans as Thunder Rosa, but behind the fierce competitor and championship belts is Melissa Cervantes, a woman whose journey from Tijuana, Mexico, to wrestling stardom is a story of determination, sacrifice and perseverance.

Cervantes recently joined KSAT's Ernie Zuniga for an episode of "Pickup Lines," opening up about her childhood, struggles as an immigrant and her passion for helping others.

Growing up in Tijuana with two sisters, Cervantes watched her father work long hours as a taxi driver to support the family.
