LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) - The Lubbock City Council voted Tuesday to approve a zoning change in North Lubbock that would industrialize the area, following more than an hour of public comment in which a majority of citizens pleaded with council members to table the plan.

The land in question is northwest of the airport, west of I-27.

The Lubbock Economic Development Alliance asked the council to rezone the area from single family to general industrial - similar to a rezoning that took place in the area in February.
