HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- More than a dozen families are seeking to regain ownership of their homes as Harris County Attorney Abbie Kamin pursues two lawsuits alleging a widespread deed fraud scheme involving multiple properties across the county.

Kamin is scheduled to announce the lawsuits Wednesday and name more than 10 defendants.

The cases stem from an investigation that expanded after residents reported concerns about property ownership, according to the Harris County Attorney's Office.
