BRENHAM, Texas (KBTX) - A Brenham police officer has been fired and is under criminal investigation by the Texas Rangers after an internal affairs investigation found multiple violations of the department's policy on automated license plate reader (ALPR) technology.
The department placed Officer Gabriel Duran on administrative leave earlier in October, after officers discovered the policy violations during a routine audit and reported them to Police Chief Gary Boshears.
While on leave, investigators revoked Duran's access to police computer systems and reviewed his searches from the previous year.
