HARRIS COUNTY, Texas - A Harris County man has been charged with tampering with a human corpse after deputies found his mother's body inside a black duffel bag wrapped in bloody sheets and a rug, according to court records.

Arman Malik, 34, was hospitalized as of Friday when the felony charge was filed.

He was detained after investigators found his mother's body Family members told investigators they hadn't been able to reach their mother, Dyna Sorto De Malik, since Saturday, Aug. 29, so they requested a welfare check to a home on Valley Knoll Drive on Tuesday, Sept. 1.
