TYLER, Texas (KLTV) - Republican U.S. Senate nominee Ken Paxton attended Sunday morning church services at Green Acres Baptist Church in Tyler ahead of a scheduled campaign appearance at Republic Icehouse.

A video recording of the 11 a.m. service shows lead pastor Dr. Michael Gossett acknowledging Paxton's presence in the congregation before addressing church members."We are called to do whatever it takes to lessen evil in our nation and around the world," Gossett said.

"That's what the people of God do. We are called to lessen evil. This is not about a political agenda. This is about a spiritual agenda from God Himself."Gossett told attendees that believers hold an obligation to act against what he characterized as a trajectory of evil."There is a difference between you and I of being fallen humanity and you and I leading a nation on a course and a trajectory of evil," Gossett said.
