(KY3/Gray News) - A woman was sent to the hospital after a crash on a Missouri interstate Friday evening.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash happened at the 170-mile marker on Interstate 44 in Phelps County at around 5:25 p.m. Troopers said a 20-year-old woman from Laquey was driving a Ford Mustang in the westbound lanes when she was hit in the face by a water bottle thrown by another driver.

The woman then lost control of the vehicle, went off the road, hit an embankment and overturned.
