It was a split decision for Tivy subvarsity football teams against Canyon Lake Thursday at Antler Stadium when the junior varsity won its fourth straight game and the freshmen showed much fight and improvement from a previous tilt against the Hawks.

Junior Varsity Sam Balderas rushed for three touchdowns and threw for one in the junior varsity's 35-6 victory over Canyon Lake that moved the team to 7-2 for all games and 4-1 in district.

After a scoreless first quarter, Tivy struck for a trio of TDs in the second when Balderas ran 27 yards, completed a 20-yard throw to Paxton Mcrae, and Rafael Ceular ran 42 yards.
