LUBBOCK, Texas (News Release from WBU) - Wayland Baptist University safely evacuated the Plainview campus Wednesday morning after a gas leak was reported near the intersection of Seventh and Quincy streets.

A SafeZone Alert went out to students and employees at 9:22 a.m. and the campus had been successfully evacuated a short time later.

Students were moved to the Laney Center, considered a safe distance, as a precaution.
