Three new pedestrian hybrid beacons are now active along Pleasanton Road, giving people a button-activated signal to stop traffic at crossings along the busy corridor.

City leaders said the corridor on Pleasanton Road from Fitch Street to I-410 is dangerous, and data shows around 200 crashes a year, including several fatalities.

When a pedestrian pushes the button, yellow flashing lights warn drivers to slow down, followed by a solid red light that stops traffic.
