SHARING THE PAST A torrential downpour hit Boerne on June 22, 1997.

A great wall of water poured from the hills, down Cibolo Creek and into Boerne Lake.

The lake water rose quickly and threatened to overtop the compacted earth and rock dam that held back the waters of the lake.
