LONGVIEW, Texas (KLTV) - The Texas Department of Transportation is resurfacing a stretch of Loop 281 from Shofner Drive to Highway 259, with most of the work scheduled during nighttime hours to limit disruptions to daytime traffic.

TXDOT Spokesman Jeff Williford said crews have already begun removing the existing surface on the segment from Shofner Drive to Gilmer Road and will start laying hot mix asphalt Sunday night.

Once that section is complete, work will extend to Bill Owens Parkway."Most of the work is going to be done at night," Williford said.
