TEMPLE, Texas (KWTX) - More than 100 fourth and fifth-grade students are expected to participate in the program this year, but organizers say there is still a need for about 30 additional male mentors.

The Wildcat Mentors program connects students with volunteers from the community and school district who provide companionship, encouragement and support throughout the school year.

Students are nominated for the program by teachers and counselors.
