TYLER, Texas (KLTV) - As drought conditions continue to worsen, the Smith County fire marshal updated county commissioners one month into the latest active burn ban.

On Tuesday, Fire Marshal Chad Hogue reported 175 outdoor burning calls and 27 citations written over the course of the month.

He reported 33 calls were in unincorporated areas over the past week, following 58 calls in week one, 37 in week two and 47 in week three.
