HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- A retired Houston Police Department officer is accused of using a law enforcement badge to get into a restricted area of the Harris County Joint Processing Center to speak with an inmate, according to court documents.

Marvin Nickerson is accused and charged with impersonating a law enforcement officer to talk to an inmate who was waiting to be processed into the Harris County Jail, court documents said.

Authorities said that the incident happened in July, but Nickerson was not arrested until Wednesday and has since bonded out.
