TYLER, Texas (KLTV) - The Gold Network's annual 5K and 1K fun run in Tyler brought the East Texas community together during Childhood Cancer Awareness Month to celebrate and support local pediatric cancer survivors and their families.

Milestones on the courseParticipants marked personal milestones and endurance on the racecourse, including Matt Rodriguez, a leukemia survivor who ran the 1K for his friend who has cancer."I'm so grateful that God put me here and that he healed me," Rodriguez said.

Leukemia survivor Jace Curtis also participated in the event.
