ODESSA, Texas (KOSA) - Maribea says the price of cacao beans has increased by as much as $10 compared to previous prices, with global instability and ongoing supply concerns driving up the cost of one of the business's most important ingredients.

Sourcing from multiple regionsDespite the higher costs, the business says it is working to minimize the impact on customers.

Owner Mark Merritt said Maribea sources cacao from multiple areas to account for differences in flavor and price."We purchase it from different areas cause it all has different flavors and we like those different flavors," Merritt said.
