HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) -- A Harris County jury has awarded more than $61 million to survivors of the deadly 2020 Watson Grinding explosion, marking the latest multimillion-dollar verdict against 3M over the disaster.

The verdict, handed down Monday, awarded $61. 5 million to 24 plaintiffs who sued 3M over its role in inspecting the gas detection system at the northwest Houston facility.

It is the third verdict against 3M since litigation stemming from the explosion began.
